Governor Gavin Newsom announced Monday that California will allow professional sports events in Alameda County for the first time in the state's history, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

Crab Cove Visitor Centre has been connecting people to the coast since 1979, and the county authorities have announced plans for a new visitor centre on the site, as well as the opening of a restaurant and retail store. The former Alameda County Decommissioning Company, the largest industrial plant in the Bay Area, will reopen in Oakland County starting Friday, according to a county news release. If so, it could open up to manufacturing or retail trade by the end of the year or early next year. The registered agent for the company is Alan Kuboyama, located at 1555 Oak St. in the Decommissioning Zone, Alameda.

The boundaries cover a 64-square-mile area that includes the Alameda County Sheriff's Department and the Oakland Police Department. The patrol area includes 73 different parks covering more than 1.5 million square feet of land in the county, and there are a total of 1,000 acres of open space within the boundaries of the area.

Current programs aimed at families with young children include the Alameda County Youth Baseball League and the Oakland Police Department's Lil 'Sluggers program. The Lil 'Sluggers provide children with an environment in which they grow up as individuals while enjoying baseball.

While the aquarium offers a view of rarely seen animals from the bay, with sharks and whales to swim in, children will want to visit their new animal friends.
